Default Heater comfort control issue [third gen]

Hey guys...
My heater control slider that goes between cold and hot will not slide..
I have pulled the control unit out, and everything is in tact and not broken. Seems the pull cable that opens the trap door is in a bind but i am afraid of forcing it as surely I will break something. I checked down there by my feet and cannot find the other end of the cable or door as everything with the console ect is a snug fit and not much room to move
down there. First time I ever have come across this issue. Would DWD 40 help loosing the cable? It wont budge at all. The top slider works fine.
Its just the lower one of the two that wont move. Ill post this on thirdgen.org as well to see if they can help too.

Try WD-40 or Lithium Greese. It's prbly just stuck on it's sleeve from not being moved in years. Or find the door and make sure it's no stuck shut with crud. It's prbly under the cowl.

The cowl on the outside, by the wipers is were the door is on my car, also the fresh air intake for the cabin. I dunno if it's similar on that one or not.
